Sierra Forever Families is a private non-profit foster family/adoption agency that focuses on finding permanency for children and youth in the foster care system and provides an array of community-based services for families at risk of entering the child welfare system. We are seeking a talented social work professional for a full-time supervisor position in our Nevada City office to oversee our new Family Preservation Program in Nevada County.

Position Summary
The supervisor will plan, prioritize, assign, and supervise social work and other program staff in the delivery of an array of services designed to strengthen family functioning and assist families in effectively utilizing community resources. The supervisor will be a key member of Sierra’s management team and is expected to take a leadership role in decision-making and development of agency policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) or masters in a related human services field
- Licensed required (LCSW, MFT)
- Knowledge of Medi-Cal (EPSDT) billing and procedures required
- Experience in supervision and management skills required
- Social work experience with at-risk children and families
- Knowledge of child welfare
- Knowledge of community resources
- Strong practical and theoretical foundation in strength-based practice
- Expertise in administration and planning, risk assessment, and crisis intervention
- Knowledge of Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) principles preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with staff at all levels, county child welfare agencies and community resource agencies
- Proficiency in computer technology
- Possess a valid California driver’s license, proof of adequate vehicle insurance and have access to reliable transportation.
- Must submit to and pass health screen, TB test, criminal record and child abuse index clearances.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for assisting families in maintaining a safe and healthy environment to raise their children, be solution oriented and comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment within the agency and with community partners.
Position Location: based out of Nevada City, CA. Travel required.
